So many opportunities today to work in partners and small groups which helps develop collaborative skills, and gives a chance to learn from others.
The students spent the morning revisiting the important aspects of having a successful conversation. What do you notice that the students are doing in the photo that demonstrate strong listening and speaking skills? Leaning forward, eye contact, open body language. After only two days of practise they are getting better already. Once we start Book Club next week things should be running smoothly.
During Math students worked with a partner to measure different parts of a circle. This reconfirmed how the concept of pi came to be and they had lots of fun in the process.
Finally, students put to work their ideas this afternoon on how they will be sharing what Canadian, BC and Hillcrest's culture is with our Romanian peers. Most groups worked hard researching their sub topics using google drive to share their learning.
Many of the 21st century skills in evidence today - creativity, collaboration and critical thinking.
