It is so great to hear that so many of the students in our class are thoroughly enjoying the novel Forbidden City. Since it is based on a true event in history it makes it even more meaningful for the students. Today they were asked to use their critical thinking skills and make a decision as to whether or not they would take the chance to smuggle out tapes from China and risk their lives for the greater good. Big question to ponder!
In the afternoon the class took time to look at, and comment on, another class' passion projects (what we call Genius Hour projects) from Saskatchewan. When we work hard to create something we want to share with the world. Now that we have seen others, the class is working on sharing their projects for our class website. I can't wait to see them all up in one spot.
1) LA - complete the response draft in Reading Journal for Wednesday. What reasons would Alex have for risking his life? What reasons would he have not to risk his life? What would your decision be if you were Alex? Explain.
2) Socials - complete Your Culture worksheet for Wednesday
3) Genius Hour - complete draft of the KWHLAQ chart. Please do this in your GH duotang. I have shared this document with you on gmail. Due Thursday.
4) Comment for today - In PE the object of the game was to be the first team to get to the other wall. What did you learn from this experience today? What didn't work? What did work? How did your team do overall?
*Think We Team - There will not be a Think We meeting tomorrow morning. Please pass this message on to any of the team members.
