Happy VIctoria Day long weekend! It was Cowboy Day at Hillcrest today. Many students and staff enjoyed getting in the spirit and dressing in their cowgirl/boy attire.
Much of our day was spent on Book Club activities and the math project. With students away for the long weekend it gave others a chance to move ahead in their projects and gave me a chance to work one on one with some students for math.
The group discussion of Iqbal was a lively one this morning. All of the students had something to contribute; they shared their questions, thoughts and opinions around child labor in India and talked about whether or not we (Canada) were contributing to the problem.
I wish everyone a relaxing weekend. It is hard to believe but our year is speeding by and we still have so much to learn!
1) LA - read and blog. Remember to mark those really memorable and powerful sections of the book that can be used as the basis for your next formal combined journal. Also, check out the blogging of the other divisions. The link is on the Book Club home page. I am looking forward to reading your posts.
2) Math - retest on circles Tuesday
- math partner project due Tuesday (time will be given in class to finish it up)
Reminders: A notice went home today for the grade 7 students regarding some end of the year events. A Fun Night notice has also gone home today.
Video - Something to inspire each of us to believe we are able to do anything we set our minds to.
I am a grade 7 teacher who has been teaching in the Surrey School District for over 28 years. I love to read, garden, walk, and spend time with family, friends and my golden retriever Kona.
