So much to fit into a day that it seemed to go by so quickly. In Reading students started to discuss the differences within genres. Today was a focus on fantasy books - what makes fantasy a fantasy? A look at types of characters ignited the conversation and this will be continued tomorrow.
Everyone began their first math unit today. The grade 6s headed to Ms Wilson's class to learn about number concepts and the grade 7s stayed with me to discuss divisibility.
To end the day we played a game of Zap as a community builder. If you do not know your classmates names it is really hard to build the bonds necessary for a classroom community.
