Welcome to Division 1. There is a new look to things this year with our class being all grade 7s. It has been a pleasure getting to know the new students over the past week and a comfort having my returning students back in the class. There is so much that we will do and learn together this year.
One change I have made is how this website will be used. Rather than posting homework daily I will be posting once a week instead (usually on Fridays) and the focus will be on the learning of the week not on a list of homework. Students are expected to use their planners daily as a tool to keep on top of assignments and convey information to parents. I will also update important dates and events on the website so students and parents can check in when unsure of activities both classroom based as well as school wide.
I would like to invite parents to come out next Thursday, Sept. 28, to the Meet the Teacher Night which will be in the form of a Welcome Back BBQ. Come and find me behind the tables serving up food or milling around visiting with parents. If you wish to set up a meeting I would be very happy to do so. Send me an email, note in your child's planner or call the school. I would be happy to discuss your child on a more formal basis.
Parents, I like to keep communication lines open with you. Please complete the form by clicking on the link provided. The form is collecting emails so that I can establish a group email as well as connect with you individually as needed. Parent Form
I am looking forward to a wonderful year with all my students.
I am a grade 7 teacher who has been teaching in the Surrey School District for over 28 years. I love to read, garden, walk, and spend time with family, friends and my golden retriever Kona.
