The week has come to a close. What a busy week it has been with many moments of fun and laughter. The grade 7s finished their FSAs today with a long write and numeracy problem solving. They pushed through lengthy focus and thinking times.
Mrs. Farrell instructed a lesson on linear perspective. this afternoon for art. Students learned how to use lines and a vanishing point to create the illusion of distance in a 2D image. Next week students will have a chance to put this learning into action by creating a cityscape scene.
1) Math - grade 7s - worksheet
- grade 6s - see yesterday
Multiplication tables - Class goal - to know the multiplication tables by March 14. Practise this weekend. I will start sharing links for games, play card and dice games with family members. If you make it fun you will remember those tables much easier. Some might be grumbling now but you will thank me later!
2) Websites - Eportfolios
Step 1) Go over the assigned peer's website eportfolio. Do they have up to date information? Do they have images for every post? Do they have learning intentions and reflections on what they have learned? Give feedback in an email that is to be sent to me. -Due Friday
Step 2) Wait for an email from me with feedback from one of your peers. Make the changes, update what is missing, use their feedback to guide this. If you are unable to do any parts of this please send me an email that you will need to complete it on your own time on Monday.
3) Swimming notice to be returned as soon as possible.
Video Link: Kid President - How to Be an Inventor
This is a new one. What do you want to invent? Great question to use as the basis of your comment this weekend.
I am a grade 7 teacher who has been teaching in the Surrey School District for over 28 years. I love to read, garden, walk, and spend time with family, friends and my golden retriever Kona.
