Giving peer feedback to improve learning.
Understanding how degrees of longitude equate to miles, discussing what would make a strong book talk and practising our decimal skills were all part of the day in the COOL zone.
It was wonderful to see the excitement enter the eyes of the students as I shared a couple of my favourite student reads. Both titles Divergent and Uglies were gobbled up by the students with a number of kids hoping to read them next. This is the power of a book talk!
1) Study for Math test tomorrow.
3) Penny Drive - bring in your pennies! (see below)
The Think We team is supporting Free the Children's We Create Change Campaign. The team will be collecting pennies to help provide safe drinking water for people in developing countries. For every $25 collected one person will have access to clean water. Please support the leadership team by digging up all those pennies and help the team help others less fortunate in the world.
I am a grade 7 teacher who has been teaching in the Surrey School District for over 28 years. I love to read, garden, walk, and spend time with family, friends and my golden retriever Kona.
