The definitions of pride and courage are simple: Pride is holding your head up when all around you have theirs bowed, courage is what makes you do it.
Courage means different things to different people as we saw in the picture book that we read today. When have you needed to find courage within yourself? What happened? How did you feel? What lesson(s) did you learn about yourself, about life? Share your thoughts. Be thinking of the criteria for creating powerful personal pieces of writing. Be thoughtful and go deeper within your writing.

Students had a chance to lead their families through their learning journey for the first 2 months of the school year. It was wonderful to see the pride on the faces of the students as they showcased their learning and to hear the positive accolades coming from the parents. Much has been accomplished in a short period of time.
Using their skills as ecologists students set up quadrats to sample species in the school yard ecosystem.
